Job Responsibilities
- Builds and maintains a positive school culture through school traditions, student leadership opportunities, meaningful relationships with students and staff, and enriching extracurricular programs.
- Teaches an internship class which focuses on leadership skills.
- Offers guidance and support to House Captains and members as they work toward goals.
- Answers questions and is a reference source.
- Attends club/organization meetings and events.
- Signs necessary paperwork (room reservation form, vehicle reservation request form, request for funding form)related to House activities.
- Assists House Council members with decision-making.
- Approves designs to be used on any House merchandise (T-shirts, mugs, etc.).
- Monitors the House's online presence to ensure that electronic communication is done in an ethical and responsible manner, and in accordance with St. John Neumann's mission and values.
- Keeps lines of communication open with thegroup's studentleader(s), meeting regularly.
- Guides the club/organization in accordance with the Salesian values of SJN.
- Supervises all aspects of the House program.
- Directly supervises the House Captains and council serving as their moderator, moderating all of their meetings and activities and fulfilling the moderator role with regards to responsibilities.
- Direct all House fund-raising efforts of the students.
- Makes all arrangements for and supervises House Captains and council appointments, installations, and other related activities, including the prior screening of potential candidates.
- Supervises (or ensures proper supervision) of all committee meetings
- Coordinate and facilitate student-related activities (dances, spirit weeks, rallies, orientations, student elections, club fundraising, Senior Activities, etc.)
- Ensure activities and clubs are cohesive with the mission and faith of the school
- Advise, guide and coordinate student clubs and organizations in planning and advising student leaders and moderators on programs and events.
- Coordinate student activities schedule.
- Model servant leadership.
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree
- Experience in Education and Student leadership programs.
- Highly self-motivated and goal driven.
- Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Must pass a FDLE Level 2 background check
