Job Summary:
Cambridge CAP is looking for Swim Lesson Instructors to teach lessons for the community of Cambridge and its surrounding area. Instructors will teach independently or co-teach group and private swim lessons to the standard of Cambridge CAP.

Primary Function:

Is directly responsible for the safety of participants enrolled in swim lessons and teaches participants to swim or improve their swimming skills with new strokes, stroke refinements, diving safety tips and techniques, and more.

Responsibilities:

• Teach/co-teach progressive swim lessons according to Cambridge CAP standards.
• Ensure the safety of all participants during lessons
• Monitor and assess the progress of each swimmer
• Provide feedback and encouragement to help swimmers improve their skills
• Maintain proper supervision of class participants during scheduled lessons.
• Provide feedback and encouragement to help swimmers improve their skills
• Maintain a clean and organized pool area
• Communicate with supervisory staff on a regular basis on the progress of classes and the need for assistance and/or equipment.
• Substitute for staff as needed.

Requirements:

• Strong swimming skills and knowledge of various swimming strokes
• Ability to effectively communicate and educate individuals of all ages
• Experience in behavior management and maintaining a positive learning environment
• Ability to climb in and out of the pool multiple times during lessons
• Sound physical and mental health
