    JOB GOALS: The Student Activities Coordinator at AIMS K-12 College Prep, under the direction of the Director of Schools,  is to lead, coordinate, and support all student activities, including and not exclusive of sports, interest clubs, student government, Pep rallies, dances and spirit weeks, etc.. One of the expectations within the AIMS K-12 College Prep Charter District community is that students give back - both externally and internally. The Student Activities Coordinator is important in helping students fulfill this expectation.

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

    • Provide structure and support for faculty/staff who want to plan and execute study trips, with the goal of increasing opportunities for students to learn off-campus.
    • Identify and promote potential community service opportunities for students outside of AIMS, and help connect students to those engagements.
    • Develop strategic approaches to fostering student leadership on campus and teaching faculty/staff how to cultivate student leadership skills.
    • Support the event logistics, planning, and implementation of the SGA student-led activities, such as successfully supporting AIMS site leaders holding annual elections and ongoing events and supporting AIMS leaders in the coordination and the facilitation of site activities, functions, competitions, and celebrations.
    • Engage student leaders and faculty/staff to plan activities, including but not limited to Spirit Weeks, Dances, Graduations, Community Days, Club Fairs, Fundraising, Academic Fairs, Prom, graduation, and Sports, etc.; Support logistics and seamless integration of AIMS academic plans.
    • Work with student club officers and club advisors (AIMS faculty/staff members) to facilitate a healthy and robust student club environment where clubs are encouraged to be active in and outside the school community and fulfill their club goals and by-laws.
    • Partner with school leadership, students, faculty, parent/guardians, the Office of Communication and Marketing, vendors/partners, and other administrators to plan and manage all activities for AIMS Students.
    •  Partner with school leadership to facilitate effective marketing and notification of opportunities for students to participate in on- and off-campus activities.
    • Communicate and collaborate with families in order to support student life and culture. 
    • Perform all duties required by the Athletic Director
    • Demonstrate knowledge of and support, AIMS K12 College Prep Charter District Academy’s mission, core values, standards, competencies, and code of conduct outlined in the Employee Handbook.
    • Participate in the school community – attending competitions, performances, assemblies, and extracurricular activities.
    • Review and recommend approval or denial of AIMS Field Trip Requests
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications


    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s Degree required
    • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant professional work experience preferred
    • Athletic Coaching experience preferred 
    • Events management experience a plus
    • Experience managing, training, and leading groups of students
    • Experience with managing contracts with outside vendors/partners
    • California Drivers License
    • Experience in working with K-12 students
    • Fingerprinting and TB requirements

    • Demonstrate an understanding of technology and literacy learning platforms (Microsoft Office Suite, PowerSchool, Canvas, Blackboard, Google Drive, and Calendar,etc. if applicable)
    • Professional orientation – appearance, communication, organization, and attitude
