    Job Summary

    The Activities Aide performs duties involved in the implementation of the activities program. The efforts of the activities program is geared towards meeting the physical, mental, and psychosocial needs and interests of Countryside Care & Rehabilitation residents.


    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Complies with the Facilities’ personnel, safety, and HIPAA policies and procedures.
    • Reports witness or reported allegations of resident abuse/neglect immediately to the Administrator, Director of Nursing or Unit Manager.
    • Treats residents, family members, visitors, and team members with respect and dignity.
    • Maintains the confidentiality of all resident and family information.
    • Reports to work on time and as scheduled.
    • Responsible for planning and implementing activities to meet residents’ specific needs, including large groups, small groups and individual participation.
    • Maintains documentation as required by State and Federal regulations.
    • Completes necessary assessments.
    • Monitors personal and staff compliance with all State and Federal regulations including regulations pertaining to blood borne pathogens, infection control, use of hazardous materials, and fire safety.
    • Monitors personal and staff compliance to Resident’s Rights.
    • Attends and participates in staff meetings and in-service training programs.
    • Assists in planning programs for residents, which can help provide socialization, relaxation and exercise.
    • Assists with a variety of activities which may include games, crafts, reading, cooking, baking, and other activities requested by the residents.
    • Actively engage in quality improvement activities.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    Minimum Requirements

    • High School diploma or its equivalent (GED).
    • Basic computer skills.
    • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
    • Able to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
    • Energetic and personable with residents.
    • Able to motivate others to participate in activities.
    • Must be able to pass any and all background checks required by law.


    Preferred Requirements

    • Ability to speak additional languages.


    Skills/Competencies

    • Read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
    • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
    • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
    • Apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form and deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
