Student Union Director directs and oversees all operations of the Student Union in accordance with the university or college's policies and procedures. SUMMARY: The Director of Student Services will be responsible for supporting the facilitation of an inclusive model for student services, that is based upon best practices, the district’s philosophy and the needs of all students. The Director of Student Services directs the planning, development, organization, management, direction, and implementation of all aspects of Student Services for the District which include, but are not limited to, special education, gifted education, nursing services, school counseling, social work services, transportation, homeschool programming, homebound instruction and Section 504. Furthermore, the Director of Student Services assures compliance with all laws, codes, and regulations related to Student Services; evaluates assigned personnel, and collaborates/provides support to administrative and professional staff in meeting identified instructional goals of the District. The Director of Student Services is a strategic thinker and a proactive leader who models strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, as well as an unwavering commitment and energy to sustain momentum in the district’s journey towards innovative teaching and learning practices for all learners.

PRIMARY RELATIONSHIPS:
The Director of Student Services shall be directly responsible to the Assistant Superintendent.
When requested by the Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent, the Director of Pupil Services shall represent the district in working with the Bucks County Intermediate Unit, approved private schools, alternative schools, universities, agencies, parents of students with disabilities, and the general public.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Director of Student Services supervises the Supervisors of Special Education, Supervisor of Transportation, school psychologists, speech therapists and social workers.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Master’s Degree plus five years teaching/administrative experience.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Pennsylvania Certificate as Supervisor of Special Education or Principal K-12
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in a specific field. Demonstrated leadership ability and general knowledge of issues and problems in all disability areas of special education. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in written or oral form. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
