Job Title: Director of Children and Student Ministry
Position: Full Time, 40 hours/week average throughout the year {Sundays and 2-4 weekdays required)

Summary: To coordinate, communicate and lead ministries that help children, youth and their families showing concern that children, youth and their families grow in their journey to know, love and serve God. Ongoing and new ministries may include, but are not limited to nursery care, Sunday school, confirmation, youth group, Vacation Bible School, missions, Christmas Eve pageant, retreats and outreach activities. This is accomplished by:
Developing relationships with children, youth and their families, encouraging them to become committed followers of Jesus Christ, and praying for our children, youth and families.
· Provide tangible examples of care such as sending birthday cards, notes of encouragement, and attending extracurricular activities.
· Keep track of and follow up with children and youth when they are absent for several weeks, making sure they know they are missed.
Creating Safe Space for Children, Youth and their Families:
· Provide a welcoming presence for children and youth.
· Provide aspects of hospitality such as snacks and beverages (or coordinate donations of refreshments.)
· Ensure children and youth are aware of rules and help them to live in community by using words that build up rather than tear down others.
· Exhibit objectivity and openness to others’ views and life situations.
· Administer child protection policies
