Responsible for working with Business Development to design, implement and sustain innovative outreach activities to grow lab services and to serve as the provider of choice for local subacute, long term care facilities, and critical access hospitals across the entire service area. # Continuously seeks opportunities to successfully bring lab services in house to reduce the number of lab tests and related costs sent to reference labs of for-profit lab laboratory companies. # Provides oversight of the development of business, financial, personnel, and marketing plans that foster growth, while exceeding patient and provider expectations. # Possesses overall leadership and managerial responsibility for all aspects of Laboratory services and is accountable for the operational performance, including quality of services, patient experience, provider and physician experience with lab services, financial performance, and competitive market position. # Works closely with the onsite and corporate-level lab medical directors, as well as all medical directors within the system to collaborate on advancing clinical outcomes, specifically the lab performance related to these outcomes. Ensuring the mix of tests are optimal for the patient population served while also recommending, socializing, and leading efforts to operationalize efficiencies that may be identified. # Serves as the lab leader, working in conjunction with the lab physician-leaders, to partner with service line medical and administrative leaders to improve lab performance on behalf of patients cared for within all service lines. # Ensures all functions are always compliant with applicable regulatory guidelines and accrediting standards. # Represents the Laboratory Services within the Health System, all communities served, and with business and medically related partners throughout the service area. Qualifications: Bachelor#s degree in Medical Lab Technology or related field Masters degree preferred, or willing to obtain within four (4 years) Five years# experience in middle or higher-level management required. Business plan preparation, capable of conducting return on investment (ROI) analysis. Strong physician relations exemplified by follow-up, meeting attendance and effective negotiating skills. Fiscal acumen demonstrated by development of annual budgets reflecting capital acquisition planning, staffing and operational expenses.
