Student Union Director directs and oversees all operations of the Student Union in accordance with the university or college's policies and procedures. Responsible for directing all functions including coordinating facility use, administering student services and activities, and ensuring proper safety and security measures. Being a Student Union Director supervises, hires, trains, and evaluates professional and student staff. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Student Union Director typically reports to top management. The Student Union Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Student Union Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. The hourly rate of pay is $11.03/hr., with an additional $.40/hr. shift differential for 2nd or 3rd shift for a total of $11.43/hr. Then 90 day and 180-day evaluations bring base pay to $12.00/hr. The employee in this position will work 40 hours per week. This full-time support staff position is 12-months annual, benefit eligible, nonexempt, and at-will.
