    About Strategy & Partnerships at WSAC:
    The Strategy & Partnerships team leads the development of the agency’s strategic action plan and oversees the execution of the Council’s priorities. The team engages with diverse stakeholders to identify issues, develop policy solutions, and support programs, policies, and practices that will advance the state's educational attainment goals. The Strategy & Partnerships division approaches the work with a focus on equity, centering students' experience in policy development, listening to local communities and leaders, and engaging with data and research to inform the work.

    Working Conditions:
    • This position is hybrid eligible. WSAC operates primarily on a remote basis, but successful candidates must be able to work in the Olympia office and travel throughout Washington State when required.
    • Equipment and supplies required to work from home will be provided by the agency, including a computer, monitors, keyboard, and mouse.
    • Work hours are standard business hours of Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, however, requirements of the position may require work more than normal scheduled hours due to travel, to meet high-volume and/or time-sensitive workload and agency priorities.

    About the Position:
    The Grant Manager, Regional Challenge Grant (RCG) will be responsible for ongoing grant management of funded and prospective regional partnerships, as well as other programmatic and administrative functions as a member of the RCG team. The RCG team includes staff in multiple divisions at WSAC who work cross-collaboratively. This position will sit within Strategy & Partnerships (S&P) and will work closely with RCG team members from the Research division and S&P.

    The Grant Manager will contribute to the development of partnership-centered work at WSAC and to the ongoing learning about the potential and demonstrated impact of the agency’s RCG investments. The Grant Manager will be responsible for ongoing organization and technical support, including preparing and managing reports, contracts and invoices with grantees and contracted partners, and overseeing performance of sub-awardees and contracted partners.

    The RCG is a developing investment by the State of Washington to support community-driven partnerships aimed at increasing postsecondary attainment in equitable ways. As such, this is a dynamic work environment, and includes opportunities for professional growth, such as trainings in new tools/technologies, mentorship, and engagement with experienced outside consultants. We are seeking a detail oriented, lifelong learner who is eager to co-create RCG with the communities we serve across Washington.

    Duties

    Some of what you will be doing:
    Grant Management


    • Manage Regional Challenge Grant (RCG) processes including, but not limited to, grantee communication, awarding, invoicing, payment liaising with contract division, and tracking grant milestones.
    • Lead the development of an RFP process for a grant management system.
    • Coordinate with staff to develop and implement application and contract renewal cycles for RCG.
    • Handle grant agreements including the creation of new agreements and amendments.
    • Create management reports to inform broader agency, Council and stakeholders.
    • Support coordination for site visits to RCG-funded partnerships.
    Program Management
    • Contribute to RCG program strategy and development conversations.
    • Build relationships with grantees and diverse stakeholders to support program development
    • Contribute to event management for partnerships across the state.
    • Maintain a project calendar and effectively project manage RCG colleagues to successfully adhere to key milestones and deadlines.
    Program Administration
    • Manage the RCG email inbox and phone voicemail.
    • Facilitate technology for large Zoom/Teams events and meetings.
    • Update Salesforce with new and/or revised contact information for external colleagues and partners.
    • Contribute to the creation of programmatic materials that are both internally and externally facing.
    • Manage partnership event coordination including invitations, RSVPs, other coordination with the Operations team.
    • Support meeting scheduling with partnerships.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:


    • A minimum of 2 years of grant management, program management, or a combination of grant and program management, with demonstrated skills and knowledge regarding grant processes.
    • Strong organizational and technical skills and ability to multitask various projects while meet competing deadlines.
    • The ability to synthesize complex information to develop scopes of work, prepare summaries and other documents.
    • A track record of building and maintaining relationships, possessing strong interpersonal skills and ability to advance work with diverse stakeholders.
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to develop consensus find solutions.
    • Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
    • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and ability to translate these values into the assigned duties of the position.
    • Awareness and understanding of historical/institutional racism and demonstrated understanding of issues regarding equity in higher education.
    • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel and PowerPoint) and other standard office applications to manage various projects and keep track of stakeholder outreach.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • 4 years of program or grant management.
    • Experience working in and familiarity with K-12, higher education, community organizing, and/or a related field.
