    SALARY CLASSIFICATION:  Exempt - Certified

     

    GENERAL STATEMENT of RESPONSIBILITIES:

                The Teacher will be responsible for providing a positive working relationship with students, faculty, staff, and parents to establish effective rapport with students that will motivate them to develop skills. Responsibilities will include maintaining high level of confidentiality and standard professionalism while delivering a flexible program and providing a safe classroom environment that promotes learning and personal growth to the students of the district.

     

    STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT TEACHER DESCRIPTION:

                Under the general supervision of the Principal/Assistant Principal of Academics and Assistant Superintendent of Student Achievement, the Student Achievement Teacher will utilize data to support staff in developing and improving learning opportunities for students.  This position performs a variety of professional work that supports teachers in helping to increase student achievement through the monitoring, supporting, and facilitating of the processes involved with both formative and summative assessments, obtaining valid and reliable data/results, and assisting teachers in making informed instructional decisions.  The Student Achievement Teacher is responsible for facilitating data meetings with content teams scheduled at the school level, analysis of assessment data, working with teachers to understand the data, and working collaboratively with the instructional specialist and content teachers to identify instructional strategies to help improve classroom instruction and student learning. 

     

    PRINCIPLE DUTIES:

    • Creates positive relationships with teachers and administrators.
    • Meets regularly with the Principal/Assistant Principal of Academics and Assistant Superintendent of Student Achievement to design, implement, align, and assess school change initiatives to ensure alignment and focus on improved student results.
    • The primary person responsible for all aspects of the Framework’s data collection system for the campus
    • Monitors, supports, and facilitates collaborative data team meetings with content teachers as they analyze and make data-driven decisions to help improve student achievement through utilizing a structured approach to reteach/enrichment learning opportunities.
    • Tracks, maintains, and organizes student achievement data to make timely and appropriate decisions about instruction and assessment helping to inform strategic interventions.
    • Assists with test coordination and testing training of staff at the school level.
    • Meets with teachers during department PLC meetings and individually to assist with data analysis, instructional alignment, supporting instructional best practices, and formative and summative assessment.
    • Works positively toward meeting identified district and building improvement goals.
    • Organizes and oversees the reteach and enrich process.
    • Fulfills other duties as assigned by the Principal/Assistant Principal of Academics and Assistant Superintendent of Student Achievement.
    • Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis.
    • Teaches district-approved curriculum
    • Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the time designated.
    • Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes or activities outside the instructional day as assigned by the administration.
    • Attends site and district workshops, in-services, etc., to maintain proficient technical skills and continued professional growth.
    • Complies with all rules, regulations, and policies of the Governing Board that related to the duties as prescribed.
    • Agrees that during the period of the contract, s/he will perform management duties, or other duties as assigned by the administration or Governing Board.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Valid Arizona certificate for the position and subject areas assigned
      • Structured English Immersion (SEI) endorsement
    • Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ IVP FPCC)

    OCCUPATIONAL CONDITION:

    Low risk - Work is routinely performed in indoor environments, including exposure to noise and being on your feet for extended periods of time. May be required to travel outdoors in inclement conditions to go from building to building for meetings or classes. The employee may be required to move from room to room through corridors heavily congested with people.
