Job Summary:

The Press Manager will ensure that Press lines meet production, safety, quality goals according to Gestamp Automotive standards. This position will support production and maintenance to minimize downtime and seek continuous improvement activities to improve operations of the Press Department. The Press Manager will manager and provide leadership to six Press Supervisors for a Tier 1 Automotive supplier.

Responsibilities:

• Leads the development of work instructions, training on processes, and supervises daily operations.
• Monitors and reports daily production activities with regards to SPC.
• Identifies, develops, and implements strategies to attain production targets with respect to SQDCM.
• Leads daily production meetings to communicate production goals and provide feedback on overall team performance.
• Evaluates employee areas of improvement and implements strategies relating to employee development.
• Provides overall employee/team development strategies through training, coaching, counseling, and performance measurement.
• Responsible for the engineering functions of the press dept.
• Responsible for the health and safety of the team members in Press department
• Know and enforce health, safety, and environmental rules.
• Seek to reduce safety risks with support of the safety team.
• Know and apply the health, safety and environmental procedure in your area.
• Ensure the safety systems and devices are in place and working properly.
• Investigate and report accidents and incidents in your area.

Requirements:

• BS in Operations Management, or other similar type of business curriculum. -or- 8 plus years’ experience in automotive transfer/prog press metal stamping.
• Experience in supervising other employees.
• Exceptional computer skills, particular with Excel and Production and Inventory Control Systems
• Familiarization with MRP and scheduling concepts preferably SAP

• The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so other will understand.
• The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
