Subrogation Specialist, Sr. is responsible for subrogation activities including the identification and research of subrogation claims. Assists in the recovery of overpayments. Being a Subrogation Specialist, Sr. coordinates with other departments, insurance representatives and members. Processes subrogation, workers' compensation, and other claims where third-party liability exists. Additionally, Subrogation Specialist, Sr. develops cases resulting from beneficiary or provider-initiated inquiries, internal referrals, personal research, or computer-generated reports. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Subrogation Specialist, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Basic Function
Purchases raw materials, parts, assemblies, equipment, supplies, and services at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, delivery, and other factors. Makes and implements decisions which impact the supplier base, including source selection, cost reduction strategies, and service level commitments
Essential Functions
• Places purchase orders in MRP for production, non-production, and service items with approved suppliers.
• Initiates procurement strategies with suppliers, including blanket PO’s, pricing discounts based on total dollar volume, and supported Kanbans.
• Establishes strong relationship with key suppliers through regularly scheduled meetings, teleconferences, or visits.
• Issues requests for quotations to suppliers on new parts and established parts to get competitive bids and updated pricing and delivery schedules.
• Negotiates with suppliers to achieve price reductions, and maintains a record of cost reduction achievement.
• Reviews open order status, incorporating MRP changes (expediting, reducing, increasing, canceling) as they occur.
• Resolves supplier billing discrepancies.
• Works with the receiving department and quality assurance department to resolve PO’s on suspense for documentation and quality discrepancies.
• Works well in a team environment.
Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements:
Good communication and listening skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word or Excel. Ability to solve
problems using sound judgment. Proficient in the use of current MRP systems (SAP, Epicor, etc.).
Education and Experience:
Ten (10) years of purchasing experience and/or supply change management in a manufacturing
environment. Specific course work in purchasing or supply chain management, preferred.

• Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, reach with arms and hands, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 lbs.
• Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time and an air-conditioned and heated office. The noise level is moderate. The factory floor is in the same building as the office.
Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000
