This opportunity entails being responsible for supporting rail projects in area of technical specialty which may include, positive train control, track/crossing design, office design, communications, onboard, signaling, OSC, and traction power systems.

What You'll Do:

• Coordinates with engineers, construction contractors, and federal and state agencies involving installation of railroad signal and communication system projects.

• Develops project design criteria, design calculations, construction details, quantities, and cost estimates.

• Inspects and reviews construction plans related to applicable rail system to ensure accordance with client standards. Conducts track design and constructability review of plans.

• Responsible for the design and calculation work for one or more of the following specialty areas: track design, signal systems, communication systems, OSC, traction power systems

• Investigates and reports on accidents and incidents related to the project.

• Interface with the Systems Manager to determine schedules, monitor design progress, support systems integration, and coordinate T&C activities.

• Provides technical guidance to earlier career or less experienced rail staff, may oversee work and direct tasks.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field and 6 years of relevant experience, or

• In lieu of degree, 10 years of relevant experience

What You'll Bring:

• Ability to work independently.

• Ability to make sound decisions based on site field conditions.

• RWP qualified or capable of receiving training.

• Ability to work successfully and professionally with client contacts

What We Prefer:

• Railroad industry experience

• Evaluate railroad operations data to evaluate railroad performance.

• Use collected data to create simulation models representing actual operations.

• Analyze the impact of railroad operations due to changes in operations and infrastructure.
