Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Subrogation Specialist, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.     PRIMARY FUNCTIONS/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    The objective of this position is to grow the credit union in all areas and measure success based on threshold benchmarks that may change at management discretion based on market and CU needs. The Senior Business Development Specialist will work to increase brand awareness with regular, sponsored and community events and increase membership, loans, deposits, and products per member. This position will work directly with the Southshore and Northshore Market Presidents, business development team, community engagement team, and key departments across the organization to improve member experience, referrals, and brand awareness.

    The individual best suited for this position is goal-driven, energetic, and can connect with members and businesses leaders across our service area. As the Senior Business Development Specialist is oftentimes the first encounter with OnPath FCU, the desired candidate will act as a brand ambassador and possess the ability to educate the public on our mission, vision, products, and services. For that reason, the Senior Business Development Specialist must set the standard of service at the first encounter with business or community partners to quickly become a reputable source of financial product and service information.

     

    Senior Business Development Specialists have the potential to earn team sales incentives based on performance and goals.  

    KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

    • Under limited supervision, develops and executes strategies to attract potential members through scheduling and attending on-location Select Employee Group (SEG) member activations, sponsored traded shows and community events, local chamber, etc.   
    • Responsible for receiving and maintaining FiCep financial counselor certification requirements.
    • Manages CMS and event tracking protocol to ensure measurement and conversion of team prospect and lead generation.
    • Leads and works closely with other team members and management to develop/maintain/deepen relationships with key business and community leaders.
    • Attends and manages networking events to increase knowledge and implementation of collaborative opportunities that help enhance the credit union brand.
    • Leads financial education seminars within our service territory and lends knowledge to local businesses and community organizations to increase awareness of OnPath FCU mission, products, and services.
    • Responsible for identifying co-branding and sponsorship opportunities that are aligned with the OnPath FCU mission.
    • Responsible for having consultative conversations with members, listening, analyzing data and offering services suited specifically for that Select Employee Group and/or member.
    • Identifies cross-selling opportunities using knowledge gained during member activations and fact-finding process.
    • Ability to meet or exceed individual and department goals established by the CU.
    • Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills to explain credit union policies and to resolve basic member concerns in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner.
    • Responsible for having a working knowledge of all documents as it pertains to membership, account opening and loan services. Must know how to obtain the information and be able to explain disclosures properly to the member.
    • Maintains and develops a working knowledge of current products, lending policies and procedures.
    • Manages the re-engagement and acquisition of Select Employee Groups (SEGs)/Business Partners and build strategies to drive business from them.
    • Responsible for working with NCUA in filing required documents paperwork for application for select communities or expansion of membership.
    • Keeps department management informed of needs, and/or problems.
    • Able to leverage technology within the XP, MeridanLink and customer management systems for lead/prospect and member generation initiatives.
    • Ensures all information and transactions regarding credit union members are kept confidential.

    • Leads, encourages, and develops cooperation among peer members to ensure a "team effort" and commitment to the established service expectations.
    • The Senior Business Development Specialist is the face of OnPath FCU and a role model for others within the organization. Leads by example, takes initiative, and is open to change.
    • Helps create a positive and consistent attitude by owning issues and following up when necessary.
    • Participates in continuing education as approved by department manager.
    • Performs such tasks as may be assigned by his/her supervisor and/or Market Presidents, which is commensurate with the position.
    • Holds self and others accountable for professional and ethical behavior as defined by OnPath Federal Credit Union’s mission, culture, and values. Continually works to expand knowledge of what goes on in other parts of the credit union.
    • Communicates with clarity and direction, and provides frequent exchange of direct, consistent, constructive feedback. Resolves conflict, recommends solutions, and monitors their progress.
    • Maintains positive relationships, shares credit for accomplishments, celebrates success of others, and takes responsibility for mistakes.

    BASIC REQUIREMENTS/ ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience in a business development environment.
    • Has at least 3-5 year of successful sales experience with established history of meeting sales and revenue quotas.
    • Established history of working well with others and strong interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills are a necessity. Candidate must possess the ability to read and write effectively.   
    • Candidate must have strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting.
    • Must be able to travel to/from branches and service area covering Jefferson, Orleans, St. Tammany, and Lafourche parishes.
    • Must be available to work unconventional hours including early morning and evening depending on business hours and networking events.
    • A high school diploma, some college preferred; and two to three years of experience in a financial, retail or hospitality institution.
    • Proven track record in cross-selling products and services.
