Substance Abuse Center Director (Hosp. Op.) directs the clinical, managerial, and administrative aspects of substance abuse programs. Measures and evaluates the effectiveness and quality of drug/alcohol rehabilitation treatment procedures to achieve standards and objectives. Being a Substance Abuse Center Director (Hosp. Op.) partners with community agencies and programs to ensure continuity in the type and level of patient care. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local standards and requirements. Additionally, Substance Abuse Center Director (Hosp. Op.) requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Substance Abuse Center Director (Hosp. Our counseling team provides compassionate, high-quality counseling and therapy to patients that are seeking recovery from Opioid Use Disorder.

     

    Your Job as a Substance Abuse Counselor:

    The Substance Abuse Counselor is instrumental in our patient’s treatment and recovery from opioid use disorder. Substance Abuse Counselors provide high quality, compassionate care through various mediums which include both individual and group counseling sessions.

     

    Substance Abuse Counselor Responsibilities:

    • Provide high quality, compassionate guidance in both individual and group counseling sessions.
    • Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient's recovery.
    • Co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions as needed.
    • Ensure all documentation regarding patient care, treatment, and incidents is completed timely and in a clear, concise manner.
    • Prepare individual treatment plans for each assigned patient.
    • Initial assessments as well as follow up assessments.
    • Evaluate patient needs and determine if referrals to other programs or facilities are needed.
    • May plan for aftercare for assigned patients.
    • Provide crisis intervention to patients, as needed.
    • Provide case management duties for patients, ensuring individualized quality care as needed.
    • Act as a liaison between referral sources and patients, as needed.

    Qualifications

    Required Education, Skills and Qualifications: 

    • Associate's degree in social or health services field with 2 years of clinical experience in a health or human service agency; or
    • Bachelor's degree in social or health services field with 1 year of clinical experience in a health or human service agency; or
    • Master's degree in social or health services field with a practicum in a health or human service agency; 
    • Degree must be from an accredited college or university. 

    Preferred Skills and Qualifications: 

    • Prior experience and knowledge in an addiction recovery and/or MAT (medication assisted treatment) environment preferred. 

    Licenses/Certifications:  

    • Not required, position applicable to the following: AAC, CAAC, CADC, CAADC, CS, CCS, LPC, BSW, MSW.
