Substance Abuse Center Director (Hosp. Op.) jobs in Florence, SC

Substance Abuse Center Director (Hosp. Op.) directs the clinical, managerial, and administrative aspects of substance abuse programs. Measures and evaluates the effectiveness and quality of drug/alcohol rehabilitation treatment procedures to achieve standards and objectives. Being a Substance Abuse Center Director (Hosp. Op.) partners with community agencies and programs to ensure continuity in the type and level of patient care. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local standards and requirements. Additionally, Substance Abuse Center Director (Hosp. Op.) requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Substance Abuse Center Director (Hosp. Op.) typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Substance Abuse Center Director (Hosp. Op.) typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Preventive Professional (Substance Abuse)

  • This position reports to a Licensed Professional and Agency Director(s).

     

    Education and Experience:

     

    Preventive professional" means, within the MHIDD/SAS system of care:

    • An individual who holds a license, provisional license, certificate, registration or permit issued by the governing board regulating a human service profession, except a registered nurse who is licensed to practice in the State of South Carolina by the South Carolina Board of Nursing who also has four years of full-time accumulated experience in MHIDD/SA with the population served; or
    • A graduate of a college or university with a Master’s degree in a human service field and has one year of full-time, post-graduate degree accumulated MHIDD/SA experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has one year of full-time, post­ graduate degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling; or
    • A graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a human service field and has two years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated MHIDD/SA experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has two years of full­ time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling; or
    • A graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a field other than human services and has four years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated MHIDD/SA experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has four years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Development, monitoring and revision of person-centered plans and plans of care
    • Coordination of other services and supports related to maintaining an individual's health, safety, and well-being in the community
    • Facilitating person centered planning, team meetings,
    • Facilitating the service delivery process, including initial assessment, ongoing monitoring of care and services
    • Monitoring to assure quality care and continued appropriateness of services
    • Submitting person centered plans to Value Options or LME for authorization
    • Ensuring linkage to the most clinically appropriate and effective services
    • Supportive counseling to address the diagnostic and clinical needs of the recipient
    • Assistance with therapeutic interventions
    • Psychoeducation and training of family, unpaid caregivers,
    • Relapse prevention and disease management
    • Ongoing symptom monitoring and management
    • Service coordination activities within the established person-centered plan
    • Documenting service provision accurately and timely


    • Attending staff meetings
    • Quality improvement activities
    • Participation in continuing education
    • Perform NCI Training
    • Marketing
    • Assist the director
    • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or director
