Substance Abuse Center Director (Hosp. Op.) jobs in Pine Bluff, AR

Position Summary: The Director of Respiratory Therapy reports to the COO and manages all aspects and areas of the Respiratory Therapy Department. This is a "Working Manager" position that is SAFETY SENSITIVE. Office hours may be modified depending upon workload and staffing.

Position Accountabilities:

1. Formulates, develops and executes plans, policies and programs for the hospital respiratory care activities.
2. Coordinates the work of the unit with physicians, nursing, outside vendors and other departments to integrate, coordinate, and respiratory care services throughout the organization.
3. Prepares the annual budget for respiratory services and maintains control of expenditures.
4. Maintains respiratory laboratory equipment according to CLIA guidelines which includes but is not limited to quality controls, performing samples for proficiency group to include any follow-up actions, etc.
5. Manages the work of support staff of Respiratory Therapy in the day-to-day performance as well as manages staff performance by assessing competency and providing constructive feedback on an ongoing basis.
6. Monitors staff productivity to increase effectiveness and efficiency and to reduce administrative costs.
7. Directs employee orientation, in-service training and affiliated student programs.
8. Assists in direct patient care as needed.
9. Attends bi-weekly hospital management meetings.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care program with a Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Registered Respiratory Therapist, Arkansas Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in the the field required with previous leadership preferred.
