ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE COUNSELOR:
•Conduct individual counseling sessions and group or family sessions as scheduled and document as required.•Facilitate assigned group or family sessions and assist with modifying problem behaviors.•Responsible for initial assessments, as well as follow up assessment for client.•Prepare individual treatment plan for each assigned client.•Evaluate the needs of the client and determine if referrals to other programs or facilities is needed.
EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALLING REQUIREMENTS:•Bachelor's degree in social or health services field preferred•Licensure or certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor, as required by California (CADC)PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Personal experience serving in military or has 1 or more years' experience working with veterans.
