Supply Chain Analyst monitors and expedites the flow of goods, resources, and information required by the supply chain to ensure that critical processes run effectively and achieve organizational goals and performance KPIs. Coordinates with procurement, production, inventory control, distribution, transportation, and other functions to optimize the supply chain. Being a Supply Chain Analyst identifies bottlenecks or problem areas and escalates or proposes solutions. Works with suppliers to resolve issues. Position Overview
As a Supply Chain Analyst you will help manage the portfolio demand forecasting plan at multiple levels of aggregation, using statistical models primarily in Excel, and using insights from Sales, Marketing, and Finance. You will ensure understanding across all departments, including sales targets and financial plans to help facilitate overall sales productivity, improved inventory turns, and supply chain efficiencies.
Objectives and Responsibilities
• Participate and prepare data and reports for the Sales & Operations Planning meetings for all finished good products.
• Maintain and improve current Excel demand planning models
• Analyze historical sales data by region, compare forecast (item by item) and determine baseline and promotional impact for proposal during S&OP meetings, including best estimates for new product introductions.
• Work with Sales, Marketing, Finance and Operations to develop and manage the company finished goods demand forecast by channel and region.
• Provide demand planning management with the insights necessary to gain management approval of proposed forecasts by explaining assumptions and trends to the forecast and identifying risks and opportunities to the operating plan and financial framework.
• Drive root cause analysis to understand demand plan error in prior periods and implement strategic goals to improve.
• Use a fact-based approach to challenge assumptions inconsistent with brand strategy and highlight risks and opportunities.
• Create a planning function to support continuous improvement in the total Supply Chain.
• Monitor, support, and help report on KPI’s including sales forecast accuracies, inventory turns, and obsolescence.
• Assist in maintaining and reporting on sku rationalization process to help determine appropriate sku offering and optimization.
• Cross Functional training in purchase order management, vendor relations and performance.
Skills and Qualifications
• Strong fundamentals with sales analysis, inventory modeling, and demand forecasting principles with proven ability to develop and manage forecasting and demand planning programs in a fast-growth company.
• Thorough understanding of supply chain.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (Pivot table functions, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFS, etc).
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, time-management, and project management skills.
• Ability to build and maintain complex analysis and reporting tools, including relational databases and stored procedures. Ability to synthesize and filter inputs from multiple sources.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives while maintaining a strong sense of urgency.
• Ability to work well independently and in teams.
• Strong customer focus outlook.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication concepts, specifically, written, oral, presentation, listening, and facilitation skills. Comfortable in communicating with, presenting to, and dealing directly with Sales, customers, suppliers, logistics partners and management.
• Demonstrates a desire for continuous learning and improvement. Experience with Lean Manufacturing/ CI is a plus.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Amazon business operations, forecasting technology, systems, market research data.
Education and Experience:
• 3 years of experience in a consumer packaged goods (CPG) environment
• APICS certification is beneficial.
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business or related field preferred or relevant work experience in lieu of degree.
• Fluent in English.
