Supply Chain Director directs overall supply chain operations, including purchasing, inventory, selection of vendors, and distribution of finished goods. The incumbent in this position is responsible for handling inventory and maintaining desired par levels of non-stock items. Responsibilities also include maintenance of the surgeon preference cards, vendor charge sheets, and serving as back up for the distribution of non-stock items from the warehouse to their appropriate locations. Works under the direction of the Sterile Processing Clinical Coordinator and OR Supply Chain Specialist to improve processes. Provides back-up to the Surgery Scheduling/Data Assistants by inputting data into computer for scheduling, charge entry, in-service time, statistical data, etc.
Essential Job Functions
Supports and models behaviors consistent with the
mission and philosophy of Billings Clinic and department/service.
Stocks and stores supplies to predetermined par levels
in OR supply room, center core and sterile processing. Rearranges and rotates
stock for orderly and timely usage of dated materials. Removes and reports
outdated items from stock. Communicates with nurses, sterile processing
department & operating room technicians to ensure their supplies are at
sufficient and appropriate levels.
Performs cycle counts. Investigates discrepancies
discovered.
Assists with annual physical inventory.
Serves as back up for the distribution of non-stock
items from the warehouse to the appropriate location.
Receives STAT calls for supplies. Responsible to
investigate and report problem scenarios and to make recommendations for
corrective action.
Updates and maintains surgeon preference cards.
Communicates with charge nurses for each service to ensure accuracy.
Updates and maintains vendor charge sheets.
Utilizes computer information systems for looking up on
hand quantities, catalog numbers, and incoming orders to provide information
for surgical services and sterile processing and for performing charge entry
and surgery scheduling functions. Understands the implication of the data and
how the data is utilized. Participates in maintaining the integrity of the
information system. Develops and maintains records in an organized manner.
Works closely with the OR Supply Chain Specialist to ensure
product availability for scheduled surgeries.
Maintain product knowledge of surgery non-stock and
stock reporting items in order to coordinate purchases with OR, purchasing,
Lead Materials Tech and/or Supervisor as appropriate.
Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and
development; meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements.
Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental
and outside agency environmental, employee or patient safety standards relevant
to job performance.
Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the
needs of the department/organization. Provides back up to the Surgery Scheduling/Data
Assistant for charge entry and/or scheduling functions as needed.
