Supply Chain Director directs overall supply chain operations, including purchasing, inventory, selection of vendors, and distribution of finished goods.     POSITION SUMMARY

    Reporting to the Vice President of Supply Chain, the Supply Chain Intelligence Director will be responsible for leading a team of Supply Chain Consultants/Specialists to own small to medium scaled supply chain projects for standards, process, systems development, and integration. In addition to normal day-to-day business needs, responsibilities will include global market launches and M&A integrations. The incumbent is expected to be a working leader responsible for supporting the Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Procurement teams in all areas of Master Data creation and maintenance which impact ERP systems and any Excel based supply chain tools. The incumbent will interact with a wide variety of contacts inside and outside the company, including all business functions, both at staff and at operational locations, and will lead master data strategy development, planning and implementation. This leader will be called upon as a subject matter expert in master data and must be capable of providing training and support to all users in a way that is grounded in the business objectives. A team of supply chain specialists, consultants, master data and recipe analysts will report to the position, and the role will be responsible for all performance management, training and development of the supply chain associates.


    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

    The specific minimum competencies needed to perform the essential duties of the job include knowledge, skills, abilities, level of education, and experience necessary for successful performance. These competencies are generally demonstrated through specific service, education, or training.

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 

    • Possess a Growth Mindset - embraces challenges, seeks opportunities for growth, finds lessons and inspiration from others is required.
    • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel, PowerBI and other data visualization/management tools.
    • Experience in working with Demand/Supply Planning Tools.
    • Excellent adaptive communication ability to a variety of audiences.
    • Must be a strong, technically capable user of spreadsheets and database applications, and possess the ability to understand detailed system operations.
    • ERP and project management experience is required.
    • The incumbent must also be a self-starter, be able to manage multiple priorities and possess the ability to drive root cause resolution.
    • Continuous improvement background with successful implementations a plus.
    • Multilingual (Spanish or Mandarin) preferred.

    Level of Experience: 

    • 7 years of people management experience.
    • Medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industry preferred.
    • APICS CPIM Certification, Six-Sigma Green/Black Belt Certification preferred.
    • Strong experience in Project Management and New Product Introduction.

    Level of Education: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related discipline, and equivalent working experience in planning, master data and/or supply chain analysis of at least 8 years.  
    • MBA or Master’s in Data Analytics preferred.

    Travel: 

    • Ability to travel 15% of time.
    • Valid passport required.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

    The core tasks, duties, and responsibilities that must be performed on the job.

    • Identify strategic opportunities to improve the effectiveness of the master data and recipe management team. Organize and lead projects which support the strategic direction and projects for Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Procurement. 
    • Identify and implement automation opportunities within day-to-day activities.
    • Provide master data related support, guidance, & training to Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Procurement team members in support of product and process initiatives.
    • Provide timely and accurate master data creation and maintenance as requested.
    • Support decision making through timely and accurate reporting.
    • Act as the central leader and subject matter expert for training, documentation, support, and coordination for plant and staff roles which are involved with master data – i.e. plant recipe management associates, planners, master data analysts, etc.
    • Provide troubleshooting and problem-solving support for functional areas which rely upon master data for proper functioning of the SAP system – i.e. customer service, product costing, planning, regulatory, etc.
    • Ensure data integrity - create, validate, and maintain master data for SAP and APO, including recipes, product master, material master, and planning specific data.   Ensure that all elements of master data meet defined standards and lead to effective SAP and APO functionality.
    • Support the reporting needs of the business by providing analytics, design, communications, and implementation.  Ensure that reporting is accurate, timely, and provides user flexibility and visibility.
    • Support business integration activities through collection, analysis, and preparation of master data to support a timely startup of accurate master data for the new business.
    • Demonstrate a commitment to quality performance through personal example by adopting and driving a customer-based philosophy in the level of service provided by the team.
