Job Purpose: The person in this role will be responsible for developing and implementing global supply chain strategies to support the Technology Components Group or key
critical customers. Lead our efforts globally to enhance and build supplier relationships that bring competitive benefits to the organization in cost, supply continuity, and technology.
Responsibilities:
Will lead a metals (ferrous or non-ferrous) commodity and be responsible for developing and
executing the strategy for the commodity
Negotiating favorable prices, lead time, agility, and terms to maximize the best metals commodity
sourcing practices. Create strong relationships with mills and distribution networks.
Research external market information and entrepreneurial companies to identify potential sources
and suppliers
Develop a deep understanding of the commodity market drivers, cost structure, industry trends and
competitive landscape
Develop a strategic sources program to support the business. Continuously drive efforts for cost
reduction opportunities and strategic improvements to support the plant to improve financials and
inventory turns.
Understand component lead time and oversee the capacity constraints of the selected suppliers
and ensure business requirements are met regularly to keep a continuous and risk-free supply
Working with plant material/purchasing management on contracts and any vendor disputes or
commodity-related issues
Monitor and track supply/capacity ramp, and agility progress by part numbers, plants, suppliers
Involve in the Supply Chain Operations process internally and externally with customers.
Collaborate with Operation, Planning, Engineering, Program Management, Purchasing, and
controller to develop annual, quarterly, and monthly supply chain plans.
Lead the effort for process standardization and continued improvement across division sites i.e.
Work closely with the Sanmina Quality and Supply Chain/Material Management team to develop
and select key suppliers to meet Sanmina supplier quality selection criteria and support the
reduction of raw material inventory and aging of work orders at the OSP, improve delivery lead
time and inbound logistics costs.
Develop clear indicators and maintain project dashboards to keep track of progress and status and
to communicate key action items to all relevant stakeholders
Professional Experience and Qualities:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering,
and or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability. Master’s/MBA preferred
Requires a minimum of 5 years of hands-on procurement or supply chain management experience
in a fast-paced and diverse environment, preferably with experience in metal commodity
management
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Basic reading of technical drawings.
Team player, positive attitude, ability to multi-task, stays calm under pressure and adapts to
dynamic situations.
High attention to detail and precision.
Demonstrated success in achieving results through others across multiple functional organizations
Excellent presentation skills and demonstrated success working vertically and horizontally across
organizations, keeping management apprised of ongoing activities and status using formal and
informal mediums
Self-motivated with a willingness to work independently of direct supervision
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Adept in using Excel and PowerPoint
Experience working with contract manufacturers is a plus
