Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management:
· Maintain accurate records of inventory levels for raw materials, components (including outside processing), and finished goods.
· Implement and enforce inventory control procedures to minimize discrepancies and ensure inventory accuracy.
· Conduct regular cycle counts and coordinate periodic physical inventories.
· Implementation of Lean Pull Systems with related raw materials and commodities were applicable.
· Create and manage purchase orders based on production schedules and material requirements.
· Manage internal Rable truck drivers daily drop off’s and pick up’s at local outside suppliers.
· Design and implement inventory strategies that can assist us customer satisfaction.
2. Supplier Relationship Management:
· Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a consistent and reliable supply of materials. (Domestic and International)
· Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to optimize cost efficiency.
· Conduct market analysis to identify potential suppliers, negotiate pricing, and establish long-term agreements.
· Identify and qualify new suppliers, ensuring they meet quality and delivery standards.
3. Quality Assurance:
· Work closely with the quality control team to ensure incoming materials meet specified quality standards.
· Collaborate with new and existing vendors to assess and qualify their capabilities, quality standards, and delivery performance.
· Implement quality control measures within the material management process to prevent defects and non-conformities.
4. Cost Management:
· Analyze material costs and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
· Implement cost-effective inventory management practices and assess the fiscal impact of material decisions.
· Maintain budgetary goals monthly to help achieve profit sharing metrics.
5. Risk Management:
· Proactively identify potential risks in the material supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.
· Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and geopolitical factors that may affect the availability and cost of materials.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field.
· Proven experience in material management and raw material buying within a precision machine shop or similar manufacturing environment.
· Strong understanding of inventory control principles and best practices.
· Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
· Proficiency in using ERP systems and other inventory management tools.
· Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
· Familiarity with quality control processes and standards.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
