Summary Description

The Supply Chain Planner role is responsible for the management and control of packaging materials relative to Sales demand plans and District Production forecasting.  This role will be responsible for managing the day-to-day support to our operations and work as a liaison between our Sale and Field departments, packaging suppliers, and district production facilities (crate sheds and packing houses).  

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Effectively communicate with Suppliers and cultivate positive supplier relations
• Track inventories for multiple locations by monitoring on hand inventory, reviewing consumption, and reacting to Sales demand
• Ensure that material deliveries are well-planned and coordinated to support our packaging needs at each growing region
• Replenish packaging supplies for California Giant’s growing regions and maintain appropriate inventory levels to support our production requirements
• Responsible for inventory management, assure adherence to planned levels and minimize excess & obsolete inventory exposure
• Manage pooled supply chain vendors like CHEP – process PO’s, reconcile weekly inventories, report usage, and manage annual audit process
• Maintain open channels of communication with each warehouse/pack-house
• Manage vendor price changes in ERP System
• Maintain BOM master file updated in Famous
• Other duties assigned

Qualifications

• 3 – 5 years’ experience in supply chain procurement
• Experience in accounting and produce preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Computer literate
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Famous
• Detail-oriented

Preferred Qualifications 

• Bilingual/Biliterate in English and Spanish

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 20-25 lbs up onto pallets of fruit at shoulder level on a continual basis throughout the shift
• This position is subject to harvesting schedules and could work as much as 9-10 hour days. Some days could be longer
• This position may work up to 6 days a week during the season depending on the harvesting schedule
