    JOB SUMMARY

    The Wells Support Technician is responsible for assisting in all phases of well work activities including slick line, electric line, coiled tubing, Frac activities and well stimulation operations. This position is responsible for the construction of hard line, job set up and rig down of tanks, chokes, valves, manifolds, well head attachments, well house construction, removal and installation, pressure testing, the installation and removal of blinds and piping. 

     

    The Wells Support Technician will also drive and operate heavy equipment to include vacuum truck, tanker, super sucker and boom truck (required to produce current qualification card). Other duties are assigned to include facility and operations support or assistance to other groups and departments.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    • Must be familiar with hardline set ups, wire line and coiled tubing rig ups, tanks and consequent monitoring of fluid levels. Must be familiar with fluid transfer and manifesting procedures.  
    • Must have experience with heavy equipment support to include rigging and securing loads, triplex and diaphragm pumps. 
    • Able to perform work in cold and extreme weather conditions.
    • Must be willing to work either day or night shift as needed. 
    • Able to operate Vac trucks, Tankers, Super Suckers, Boom Trucks and driving on ice roads to include ice covered gravel pads. Certification proof required for Boom Truck operators. 
    • Must be familiar with wells, wire line, down-hole pumping and drilling fluid support loading and unloading liquids to include water, seawater, brine, mud, diesel and crude oil under fluid transfer guidelines and procedures. 
    • Monitor chokes, tanks, gauges on flow back and coil tubing rig ups. 
    • Perform pressure testing of hard line, pipe systems, freeze protection, and provide general support of well head work using hand tools, wrenches, and various electric and pneumatic tools. 
    • Must be able to work at heights.
    • Must be able to work closely with others in a team environment.
    • Maintain records, logs, and schedules of all requests. 
    • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
    • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

     

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

    • A minimum of five (5) years’ Well Support or related training and experience around wells required.
    • Current DOT Medical Card, possession of a current valid CDL Class A Driver’s License, without restrictions, authorizing the employee to operate commercial vehicles or heavy equipment in the state of Alaska in accordance with DOT and private lease requirements with tanker and hazardous material endorsement required.
    • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience in the oil and gas industry and in the arctic environment preferred.
    • NCCCO small hydraulic crane/boom truck certification preferred.

    WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE

    While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you.  All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms.   Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift.  Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp.  Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc.  Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT
