Paradigm at the Bay City is a Skilled Nursing Facility seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Support Services to join our team! 

Job Duties 

• Evaluate, repair, and maintain plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems 
• Provide oversight of all Maintenance, Laundry and Housekeeping employees
• Perform maintenance and repairs on all aspects of the facility building as directed
• Receive and respond to resident and family reports of mechanical or maintenance issues
• Communicate with supervisor about any work that requires outside expert assistance
• Maintain fire, carbon monoxide, smoke and other safety systems pursuant to applicable  
• federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations as well as the facility’s policies and  procedures 
• Fix potential safety hazards in a timely manner 
• Provide support to Housekeeping and Laundry Departments as directed
• Communicate and interact effectively with residents, visitors, families, staff, and supervisors
• Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed
• Report all resident, staff, or other concerns to the appropriate department head
• Report all incidents, accidents, unsafe situations, and concerns immediately
• Maintain knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations relating to  responsibilities  
• Ensure that responsibilities are performed consistent with all applicable federal, state, and  local rules and regulations as well as facility policies and procedures

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience 

• High school diploma or GED 
• Computer literacy skills (Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, Internet) 
• Minimum three years’ experience in a similar position in a medical setting
• Experience survey requirements for maintenance, laundry, and housekeeping departments
• Experience with minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC servicing needs and repairs
• Familiar with such equipment as PTAC units, fire alarms, nurse call lights, internet/network  setup, and phone systems
