Support Services Director - Healthcare oversees the health care facility's support services departments. Healthcare Compliance Director

  • Under the supervision of the Compliance Officer, the Compliance Director will implement HumanGood’s Compliance Plan through responsibility for the generation, organization, updating, auditing of and training on HumanGood’s policies, including management of its policy database. The Compliance Director will ensure policies are in place to implement current regulations from several states in which the company operates and will help track legislative and regulatory developments that may require new policies or other operational measures. The Compliance Director must generate policies that are well-researched and responsive to community and organizational needs. This person will interact with team members, board members and residents as necessary and directed. This is a key and highly visible position with the responsibility of supporting a strong corporate compliance program.

    • Manage Policies and Procedures
    • Work with department representatives across the enterprise to formulate, review and revise appropriate policies and procedures;
    • Maintain company’s policy database, uploading and organizing policies and facilitating employee access,
    • Facilitate and participate in Policy Committee meetings;
    • Support Company’s growth by reviewing and evaluating policies and procedures of potential affiliation or acquisition partners and helping to revise such policies and procedures post-closing;
    • Support Compliance Program
    • Participate in quarterly Compliance and Risk Management Committee meetings
    • Coordinate with the Compliance Officer Annually to review and update the Corporate Compliance Plan;
    • Coordinate with the Compliance Officer on an annual internal audit work plan for ongoing review of operations to ensure regulatory compliance standards are met and any issues found are corrected;
    • Develop, coordinate and participate in educational and training programs that focus on the elements of the Compliance Program;
    • Help to ensure that all appropriate employees and managers are knowledgeable of, and comply with, pertinent Federal, State and health care program requirements;
    • Prepare an annual work plan addressing the priority compliance risk exposures for review by the General Counsel;
    • Corporate Compliance
    • Assist Compliance Officer with auditing and upkeep of materials in board portal (corporate bylaws, board committee charters, minutes, and other corporate minute book materials) and policies governing procedural aspects of governance
    • Workload permitting, the Compliance Director may attend board meetings and produce drafts of corporate minutes as requested
    • General
    • Keep abreast of best practices by participating in continuing education courses, professional organizations and seminars; reading current literature and maintaining professional contacts in the communities;
    • Review and analyze current and proposed regulations and laws to determine the impact on operations and identify the need for new or revised policies, procedures, and/or Compliance Plan documents;
    • Complete special projects as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • BA/BS degree of equivalent education, training and professional experience
    • Graduate degree in healthcare administration or equivalent experience preferred
    • Graduate of an accredited nursing school and currently licensed as an RN to practice in California or HumanGood participating states preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years experience in healthcare compliance or related exposure to CCRC and Skilled Nursing Facilities.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years management in health care operations preferred
    • Certificate of Healthcare Compliance (CHC) preferred
    • Understanding of privacy laws applicable to the health plans;
    • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret and determine the impact of complex laws, regulations and other documents;
    • Knowledge of regulatory external audits, internal auditing and effective implementation, control and monitoring processes;
    • Ability to travel
    • Valid California Drivers License
