  • The Web Developer will work as part of a US Government team developing web-based geographic information systems (GIS) applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to front end development efforts utilizing a React/Redux/Typescript framework in conjunction with a RESTful API. Day to day responsibilities will be implementing user experiences in collaboration with our API Developers and other Frontend Developers.

    Responsibilities:

    • Develop front end components and add new features using React, Redux and Typescript.
    • Develop features, write tests, and maintain reusable and optimized code.
    • Optimize components for maximum performance across a vast array of web-capable devices and browsers.
    • Apply problem solving skills, sophisticated design, and high quality within a collaborative environment.
    • Ability to self-direct and closely collaborate with a small team
    • Learn new technologies and find effective solutions to complex problems.
    • Contribute to code review.

    Qualifications:

    • Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen
    • Candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, GIS, or related field. Added experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
    • Must have 2 to 4 years of experience working in JavaScript, TypeScript, and React, including DOM manipulation, and the JavaScript object model. Must have experience with Redux and as well as RESTful APIs, SCSS and Typescript.
    • Must be familiar with using Git as version control. Other experience should include at least four of the following: Python, Django, Jest, Docker, Unix Shell, NPM, jQuery, geospatial software development, and databases.
    • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability multitask, prioritize, and complete work within schedule.
