Job Details
Primary support and development functions for web-based assets, our website, any dealer portals, and other current/future browser-based applications. Using a combination of web centric skills (e.g., ASP.NET, C#, CSS, HTML5, MS SQL), enable more corporate functions to become available to our clients, dealers and customers. Assist the Applications Supervisor in all functions as directed and gain sufficient knowledge to support the department in the event the Applications Supervisor is unavailable. Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements such as forms of data input, how data is to be summarized, and formats for reports. Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer program. Reviews computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system. Studies existing information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness, develops, and implements new systems to improve production or workflow as required. Conducts studies pertaining to development of new information systems to meet current and projected needs. Plans and prepares technical reports, memoranda, and instructional manuals as documentation of program development. Upgrades system and corrects errors to maintain system after implementation. Works with users and other Information Services Staff to develop, test, install, and modify programs.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) from four-year college or university; six years related experience with a minimum of two years of experience developing 4GL code; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years of experience with current development technologies software preferred.
5 years' experience with scripting languages (VBScript, jQuery, JavaScript-2 years), .NET programming (ASP.Net and C#-3 years) and Microsoft SQL 3 years; A demonstrated understanding of IT/Web infrastructure, communications, marketing, and customer service principles; An intermediate to advanced understanding of HTML and CSS; The ability to read and/or debug code written by others.
