Surgeon - Cardiothoracic jobs in Fargo, ND
Surgeon - Cardiothoracic specializes in the diagnosis, medical management, and surgical treatment of patients with diseases of the heart and lungs. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Being a Surgeon - Cardiothoracic identifies need for tests or follow-up visits. Reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Additionally, Surgeon - Cardiothoracic may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice. Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) currently employs two orthopedic surgeons. Our consistent year-over-year growth in this specialty is creating an opportunity for a third surgeon to join the team.
The ideal candidate would have a specific interest in sports medicine and upper extremity. Accomplished athletics at local and regional high schools, a local university and a very active community are creating this demand.
A typical week for our orthopedic surgeons involves at least 1 surgical day (more often 1.5), clinic and .5 days of administrative time.
Call is limited to one day a week and 2 weekends a month, with the opportunity to take on more for additional compensation.
- Dedicated APP support for practice - surgical assist, as well as seeing patients in the clinic.
- Specialty clinic and operating rooms are just steps apart.
- In-house radiology, including CT and MRI.
- Employed radiologist.
- In-house rehabilitation department, including athletic training.
- 24/7 physician-staff ER

- 30 days of paid allowed time off (ATO)
- 10 days paid for CME, plus generous budget for expenses
