Surgeon - Heart Transplant jobs in Columbus, OH
Surgeon - Heart Transplant examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats patients with end-stage cardiac disease. Surgically replaces a diseased or damaged heart with a healthy heart. Being a Surgeon - Heart Transplant reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving the desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Heart Transplant may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice. Surgeon - Heart Transplant's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

Position Summary
This position is responsible for performing all clinical testing for histocompatibility. Certification (CHT/ABHI) at the Technologist level must be completed within two years of hire. Demonstrate appropriate experience and knowledge to perform, analyze and interpret laboratory test, and adhere to clinical laboratory guidelines. Must be available for scheduled 24 hour on-call responsibility. The on-call responsibility is shared among all available technologists. Technologist may be required to work second or third shift if necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
For Hire: Bachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, knowledge of standard immunological lab techniques, or knowledge of histocompatibility and/or 2 years of lab experience required. Experience in PCR-molecular technology helpful. Demonstrable organizational skills and, ability to multi-task absolutely essential. Certification (CHT/ABHI) at the Technologist level must be completed within two years of hire.
