Surgeon - Heart Transplant examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats patients with end-stage cardiac disease. Surgically replaces a diseased or damaged heart with a healthy heart. Being a Surgeon - Heart Transplant reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving the desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Heart Transplant may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice. RN Heart Transplant Coordinator

    This position will provide coordination and case management for ventricular assist devices (VAD) and cardiac transplant patients in collaboration with the program medical director and referring physicians to promote optimal patient outcomes. Responsible for clinical and technical support for ventricular assist devices or cardiac transplant patients regarding evaluation, implant management, post follow-up and clinical training. Effectively uses care conferencing and multidisciplinary transplant/VAD committee for patient evaluations and clinical reviews. Facilitates patient care within an outpatient clinic and shares 24 hour call. Will coordinate patient care through medical procedures, ongoing education, inpatient and outpatient care delivery and follow-up.

    Required qualifications:

    • Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement.
    • Oregon Registered Nurse License upon hire.
    • VAD coordinator experience

    Preferred qualifications:

    • 3 years of Clinical experience with VAD patient care.
