May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Seeking a Transplant Scheduler to perform diversified administrative support duties for the Solid Organ Transplant/Hepatology Programs in working with the multidisciplinary team (to include program and hospital administration, physicians and other program staff).
What you will do in this role:
1. Coordinates the scheduling of diagnostic procedures with patients, physicians and physician offices according to the established scheduling guidelines.
2. Communicates additions, cancellations, and special requests of scheduled appointments to all appropriate parties.
3. Utilizes the computerized scheduling system and supports updates as available, while ensuring that documentation is timely and accurate.
4. Maintains electronic patient databases by updating and maintaining accurate demographic, physician and referral information.
5. Collects patient medical records, results of scheduled testing and physician consults for review by clinical tea; ensuring all documents are scanned / filed accurately in the patients’ electronic medical record.
6. Assists the medical team in committee meetings and chart reviews as it applies to the department needs.
What qualifications you will need for this role:
Minimum Education, Experience, Training, Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities and Other Job-Related Characteristics:
1. Education: High school graduate or GED required.
2. Experience: Six months experience in office functions acquired through hospital or medical office work preferred. Ability to utilize basic office equipment, including computer terminals.
3. Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable).
