Being a Surgeon determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. May provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. Additionally, Surgeon may provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. The role of a Physician is a staff position and must provide a wide range of care and services in their designated specialty. Must be able to provide consultative services to other providers and complete procedures entailing significant risk. He/she provides administrative and managerial support to Advanced Practice Providers (APP) if applicable and nursing staff. Physician sits on Hospital committees and service lines as needed and requested, in addition to working with Continuing Quality Improvement (CQI). Physician works with administration to coordinate patient care activities. He/she works with Hospital Administration and Clinic Administrators in their professional specialty.
Education:
Completion of accredited Medical School.
Experience:
Completion of appropriate residency and fellowship training in their professional specialty.
Licensure/Certification:
MD/DO/DPM: Current Medical License by Kentucky Board of Licensure required.
