Surgeon - Neurology examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats disorders of the brain, spine, spinal cord, and nerves. Operates on the brain in order to relieve pressure in an intracranial hemorrhage, remove a foreign body such as a tumor, treat a wound, or relieve pain. Being a Surgeon - Neurology operates on the spine in order to free entrapped nerves, correct deformity, or restore spinal stability. Reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Additionally, Surgeon - Neurology determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. May provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice. - Greet and assist patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries
- Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of information
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow
- Manage medical scheduling and ensure appointments are properly booked
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and document management
- Utilize Specialist Pediatric Neurology ECW patient information
- Assist with insurance verification and billing processes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the office space
Experience:
- Previous experience working in medical office setting is preferred
- Proficiency in using phone systems and handling patient inquiries
- Knowledge of medical records management and confidentiality protocols
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
