Surgeon - Neurology examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats disorders of the brain, spine, spinal cord, and nerves. Operates on the brain in order to relieve pressure in an intracranial hemorrhage, remove a foreign body such as a tumor, treat a wound, or relieve pain. Being a Surgeon - Neurology operates on the spine in order to free entrapped nerves, correct deformity, or restore spinal stability. Reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. This individual will need the ability to navigate efficiently in a high volume office environment that treats 70 patients on a daily basis while being able to answer high call volumes and still provide superior customer service to all individuals.

Qualifications:
1.High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates degree preferred
2.Strong computer skills required; email, Microsoft Word, Excel, knowledge of medical practice management and EMR systems

4.Problem solving, critical thinking and decision making in a customer service environment preferred; must be able to organize and prioritize
5.Previous customer service experience is desirable
6.Previous orthopedic experience is a plus

Job Goals:
To ensure a smooth, efficient, customer service experience for all patients/individuals that step foot into Gilbert Neurology. The Patient Services Coordinator is often the 'first impression' a patient has of Gilbert Neurology. This role provides administrative support and coordination of patient care for both new and/or established patients.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following;
1.Professionally greets and welcomes patients and their friends/family, and the general public
2.Checks in patients and informs clinical staff of patient arrival
3.Collects/calculates co-pay and co-insurance amounts from patients
4.Provides and explains paperwork to patients prior to examination. Collects, proofs for completeness, and scans/files patient forms. Updates demographics and insurance information in the system.
5.Answers, screens, and directs all incoming calls to appropriate personnel relaying messages between patients and clinical staff. Answers all phone calls in a prompt, courteous, professional manner.
6.Answers, screens, and responds to routine questions via phone, electronic communications, or face to face contact, routes to appropriate personnel, or take thorough messages. Pages clinic personnel as appropriate. Communicates messages in an accurate and timely manner according to procedures.
7.Schedules incoming patients, including incoming patient referrals
