Surgeon - Neurology examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats disorders of the brain, spine, spinal cord, and nerves. Operates on the brain in order to relieve pressure in an intracranial hemorrhage, remove a foreign body such as a tumor, treat a wound, or relieve pain. Being a Surgeon - Neurology operates on the spine in order to free entrapped nerves, correct deformity, or restore spinal stability. Reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Additionally, Surgeon - Neurology determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. May provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice.     Veterinary Surgeon for Referral Hospital - Up to $100k Sign-on bonus!

    Excellent opportunity to live in western Massachusetts and work with a skilled, collaborative team in a highly respected referral-surgery service at a hospital that is welcoming, relaxed, and caring for clients, patients, and for our staff. 

     

    Will lead a team of three dedicated certified nurses and a certified rehabilitation therapist to handle the surgical needs of referring hospitals in western Mass, northern Connecticut, and southern Vermont.

    Key Responsibilities: 

    • Maintain the quality and expand the diversity of surgical procedures
    • Deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress
    • Communicate promptly with referring veterinarians
    • Stay current with new medical/surgical information and changes in veterinary medicine
    • Positively represent the hospital in the community

     

    Requirements: 

    • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree
    • Board-certified or board-eligible preferred. Otherwise, must have extensive surgical experience, including significant orthopedic experience
    • Licensure in good standing in the state of Massachusetts or ability to get licensure in MA
