Surgeon - Oral performs oral surgery to prevent and correct injuries, deformities, diseases or improve patient function, appearance or quality of life. Reviews patient history and confirms need for oral surgery. Being a Surgeon - Oral determines which instruments and method of oral surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Additionally, Surgeon - Oral provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. May provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice. Surgeon - Oral's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.        -A-DEC equipment, 2-D Panoramic X-ray, Intraoral camera, Electric hand pieces

       -Electronic patient records (Dentrix), Digital x-rays (Dexis),

       -Acteon Implant Center II, Endo-sequence rotary hand piece, Soft tissue laser

       -Ventilation System (COVID-regulation approved), Dry Shield Isolation System

       -Reasonable monthly supply budget, PPE well-stocked

     

    Essential Functions/Duties:

    Our providers perform “bread and butter” dentistry such as cosmetic restorations, crown and bridge, endodontic procedures, extractions, partials, dentures, dental emergency procedures, and hygiene procedures. Other unmentioned procedures such as implantology can be performed if providers are credentialed.

    Qualifications, Education, Licensure

    Doctorate degree in Dental Surgery or Dental Medicine- DDS or DMD

    Current and valid license to practice in the State of Indiana, USA

    CPR/BLS Lifesaving training certification

     

    Full-time Employee Salary Package:

    - Competitive base salary with yearly salary increases up to 5%

    Essential Functions:

    1. Provides and oversees direct dental diagnosis, treatment, procedures, and care for a specified patient population
    2. Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions
    3. Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate
    4. Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards as appropriate to the position
    5. Participates in specified health promotion, education and /or prevention programs
    6. Other duties as assigned

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    1. Excellent communication skills; active listening as well as written and oral comprehension/communication skills; Bilingual (Spanish/English) language skills helpful
    2. Excellent customer service skills; actively seeks ways to assist internal and external customers within the scope of assigned duties
    3. Good computer skills; Outlook, Windows, Microsoft Office applications; Dentrix exposure preferred
    4. Good time management skills; self evaluates the use of time and understands how others may be affected

     Education, Experience and Licensure:

    1. Doctorate degree in Dental Surgery or Dental Medicine required 
    2. Current and valid license to practice dentistry required

     Physical Demands:

    1. May sit and/or stand for long periods of time
    2. Must be able to see and hear within normal range with or without correction device(s)
    3. Dexterity and hand to eye coordination as normally associated with operating office equipment, computers and telephones

     Work Environment:

    1. Professional, fast-pace office work environment
    2. May be exposed to bodily fluid and bloodborne pathogens risking infectious disease exposure
