Surgeon - Orthopedic jobs in Ann Arbor, MI

Surgeon - Orthopedic examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats musculoskeletal diseases and injuries. Performs surgical procedures to immobilize fractures by using corrective devices such as braces, pins, casts, and splints. Being a Surgeon - Orthopedic reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Orthopedic may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to a medical director. Requires a license to practice. Surgeon - Orthopedic's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Requires at least 1 year of experience in customer service.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with patients and the public and be capable of establishing good working relationships with both internal and external customers.

    Preferred: Healthcare or Orthopedic experience


    Essential Functions

    • Responsible for transporting patients from the waiting room, radiology, and patient room, and tracking all incoming and outgoing patient films
    • Treat all patients courteously and professionally. Call patients in accordance with all HIPAA guidelines.
    • Review the schedule at the front desk and call each patient in order.
    • Follow up with front desk staff to see if any add-on cases are waiting.
    • Use a wheelchair to safely transport any patients that need assistance.
    • Assist patients in dressing rooms.
    • Room patients as directed by the Radiologic Technologist.
    • Transport add-on cases back to patient rooms when x-rays are complete.
    • Take all paperwork to either the front counter or to the MA rooming the patient.
    • Log and scan all x-ray films then return or dispose of them as indicated.
    • Copy films to disk as directed by the Radiologic Technologist.
    • Report any patient complaints immediately to the Chief Radiologic Technologist.
    • Establish and maintain effective communication with physicians, subordinates, and other departments as required.
    • Respond to patient questions and complaints as required to resolve problems and maintain high patient satisfaction levels.
