Surgeon - Orthopedic jobs in Champaign, IL

Surgeon - Orthopedic examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats musculoskeletal diseases and injuries. Performs surgical procedures to immobilize fractures by using corrective devices such as braces, pins, casts, and splints. Being a Surgeon - Orthopedic reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Orthopedic may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to a medical director. Requires a license to practice.     JOB SPECIFICS

    • Join our mission driven culture as we recruit an additional top-notch orthopedic surgeon to join our growing practice.
    • The incoming Orthopedic Surgeon will practice in a multi-specialty clinic with 2 other Orthopedic Surgeons with good access to primary care and subspecialists.
    • Clinic hours are M-F, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
    • Call is 1:3 but will be moving to 1:4
    • RVU/Productivity Plan compensation model
    • Incoming physician will see general orthopedics including shoulder, hip, knee, leg, arm and ankle.

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Education: Doctorate Licenses/Certifications: Physician Licensed to practice medicine in current state.
    • Board certified or board eligible in the appropriate specialty(ies).
    • Obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges.
    • Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal heath programs.
    • Physician shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.
    • Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable.

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care aligned to the preferences, goals, and needs of the patients served
