Surgeon - Orthopedic jobs in Melbourne, FL

Surgeon - Orthopedic examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats musculoskeletal diseases and injuries. Performs surgical procedures to immobilize fractures by using corrective devices such as braces, pins, casts, and splints. Being a Surgeon - Orthopedic reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Orthopedic may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to a medical director. Requires a license to practice.   • Busy, orthopedic office in need of a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant who is very organized, self-motivated, team-oriented, and able to work quickly in a high volume office. The right candidate for this position will be able to: Handle a high volume of patients. Give excellent patient care and customer service. Complete detailed history of present illness. Accurately enter data into Athena EMR. Assist with injectable medication preparations. Assist physician with orders and referrals. Access patient radiology in PACS system. Professionally handle patient phone calls. Have knowledge of worker's compensation, Medicare, and commercial insurances. Assist physician as needed during patient exams including scribing. Remove sutures or staples and change dressings. Apply casting or splinting. Other duties as needed.

    Ideal candidate will have basic x-ray machine operator certification or obtain within 18 months of hire.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
