Surgeon - Orthopedic jobs in Peoria, IL

Surgeon - Orthopedic examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats musculoskeletal diseases and injuries. Performs surgical procedures to immobilize fractures by using corrective devices such as braces, pins, casts, and splints. Being a Surgeon - Orthopedic reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Orthopedic may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to a medical director. Requires a license to practice.     • Excellent opportunity for a fellowship-trained, BC/BE Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon to join a well-established, team of specialists to serve an increasing patient base in Peoria, Illinois.
    • This physician group has a strong affiliation with OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, the area’s only Level 1 Trauma Center, the highest level designated in trauma care.
    • Shared Call, 1:8
    • The orthopedic team includes 1 sports medicine physician, 12 orthopedic surgeons, 11 physician assistants and professional clinical staff who treat a full range of orthopedic conditions. We also offer diagnostic services, ambulatory surgery, physical/occupational therapy and a sports medicine program.

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Education: Doctorate Licenses/Certifications: Physician Licensed to practice medicine in current state.
    • Board certified or board eligible in the appropriate specialty(ies).
    • Obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges.
    • Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal heath programs.
    • Physician shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.
    • Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable.

    • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care aligned to the preferences, goals, and needs of the patients served
