Surgeon - Orthopedic examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats musculoskeletal diseases and injuries. Performs surgical procedures to immobilize fractures by using corrective devices such as braces, pins, casts, and splints. Being a Surgeon - Orthopedic reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Orthopedic may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to a medical director. Requires a license to practice. Orthopedic Joint Reconstruction Surgeon
West Virginia University Health System (SMG) seeks an Orthopedic Joint Reconstruction Surgeon. The successful candidate will practice at both our Uniontown Orthopedic Clinic and Uniontown Hospital in Uniontown, PA.
Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successful candidate must have completed orthopedic surgery residency program. Successful candidates must be board certified / eligible in orthopedic surgery with an emphasis in joint reconstruction. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
