Surgeon - Orthopedic examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats musculoskeletal diseases and injuries. Performs surgical procedures to immobilize fractures by using corrective devices such as braces, pins, casts, and splints. Being a Surgeon - Orthopedic reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Orthopedic may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to a medical director. Requires a license to practice. Job Summary:The Westchester Medical Center Health Network Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is recruiting a General Orthopedic Surgeon to join our academic practice. The successful applicant will be based at MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY with a medical office located immediately adjacent to the Midhudson Hospital inpatient and outpatient facility. The hospital is located in a beautiful suburban setting, 75 minutes north of New York City, and serves as a busy American College of Surgeons accredited Level 2 trauma center.Qualifications / Requirements:Applicants must possess skills in adult reconstructive surgery, general orthopaedic surgery, orthopaedic sports medicine, and community trauma. The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 1-3 years experience and excellent clinical, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. The candidate will be joining a highly respected service with multiple locations supporting orthopaedic residency and fellowship training programs. The candidate should be board certified or board eligible by the ABOS and be eligible for an academic appointment at New York Medical College. This is an employed position within the Westchester Health Network Advanced Physicians multispecialty group practice. Employed physicians receive comprehensive benefits and malpractice coverage.About Us:
