Surgeon - Orthopedic examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats musculoskeletal diseases and injuries. Performs surgical procedures to immobilize fractures by using corrective devices such as braces, pins, casts, and splints. Being a Surgeon - Orthopedic reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Orthopedic may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to a medical director. Requires a license to practice.     We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our team. As a member of our orthopaedic surgery department, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions and injuries.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform surgical procedures to treat a wide range of orthopaedic conditions, including fractures of the pelvis and extremities, nonunion and malunion repairs, post-traumatic arthritis management, bone infections, and total joint arthroplasty procedures (knee and hip replacements).
    • Evaluate patients, order diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
    • Provide preoperative and postoperative care to orthopaedic surgery patients, including monitoring patient progress, managing pain, and addressing complications as needed.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including orthopaedic surgeons, nurses, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
    • Participate in departmental meetings, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including documentation of patient encounters, procedures performed, and treatment plans.

    Requirements:

    • Board Certification or Board Eligibility (0-5 years of residency) in Orthopaedic Surgery.
    • Active Michigan Medical License, or in the process of obtaining (highly preferred).
    • Experience with a wide range of orthopaedic surgical procedures, including fractures, total joint arthroplasty, and complex orthopaedic conditions.
    • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based orthopaedic practices.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
