Surgeon - Orthopedic examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats musculoskeletal diseases and injuries. Performs surgical procedures to immobilize fractures by using corrective devices such as braces, pins, casts, and splints. Being a Surgeon - Orthopedic reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Orthopedic may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to a medical director. Requires a license to practice. Well established and busy private orthopedic, spine and pain management practice in Santa Maria has a full-time opening (Monday to Friday) for a front office receptionist.
Job Purpose:
Greeting patients; scheduling and confirming appointments; answering phones
Job Duties may include, but are not limited to:
· Welcome patients and visitors by greeting, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.
· Scheduling appointments; calling patients to remind them of upcoming appointments.
· Answering multi-line phone system and fielding calls accordingly
· Distributing and assisting patients with paperwork
· Utilizing the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to enter patient data and appointments
· Maintaining the reception area
· Collecting co-payments at the time of service
· Assisting with the flow of patients through the office
Applicant must have exceptional organizational skills, excellent computer skills and be ready to work in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining great attention to detail. The applicant must also be reliable and punctual, professional, have good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred. Competitive pay plus health benefits.
