Surgeon - Orthopedic examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats musculoskeletal diseases and injuries. Performs surgical procedures to immobilize fractures by using corrective devices such as braces, pins, casts, and splints. Being a Surgeon - Orthopedic reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Orthopedic may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to a medical director. Requires a license to practice.     Baylor Scott & White Health is recruiting a BC/BE Fellowship trained Vitreo-Retinal Surgeon to join an established Ophthalmology practice in Temple, Texas.

    Position Highlights

    • Join an established Ophthalmology practice at Baylor Scott & White Medical to provide care to patients in the community.

    • Team includes: 13 Ophthalmologists including - 2 Vitreo-Retinal Surgeons / 6 Optometrists

    • Busy schedules Monday-Friday; dedicated time for OR, clinic, procedures, and laser

    • Participate in education with a well-established Ophthalmology Residency Program as well as medical students through Baylor College of Medicine

    • Call: 4 weeks per year

    • Employed position with a comprehensive benefit package

    • Epic EMR system with Kaleidoscope for Eyes; Zeiss Forum for image management

    Qualifications:

    • Doctorate Degree in Medicine

    • Fellowship Training required

    • Licensed to Practice Medicine in the state of Texas by the Texas Medical Board
