Surgeon - Pediatric examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats children from the newborn stage through late adolescence. Treats a wide variety of problems children may have, which may include appendicitis, hernias, cancer, or a serious congenital anomaly. Being a Surgeon - Pediatric reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Pediatric may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice. VCA Aurora Animal Hospital is seeking an additional Surgeon to join our established, AAHA accredited, 24-hour emergency, specialty, and general practice in Aurora, Illinois—located just an hour outside of Chicago.
Our spacious, 27,000 square foot facility is equipped with two Logiq 7 ultrasound machines, MRI, CT, C-Arm fluoroscopy, ventilator, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Additionally, we feature a strong emergency/critical care service, a thriving internship program, and an experienced management team. Our multi-specialty group includes Surgery, Radiology, Medical and Radiation Oncology, Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, and Cardiology.

Only 37 miles west of Chicago, the Aurora Area is home to the oldest continuous Farmers Market in Illinois, a wide variety of shopping, and outdoor music at RiverEdge Park.
