Surgeon - Pediatric examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats children from the newborn stage through late adolescence. Treats a wide variety of problems children may have, which may include appendicitis, hernias, cancer, or a serious congenital anomaly. Being a Surgeon - Pediatric reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Pediatric may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice.     Essential Job Functions:

    • Manage the overall team to maintain a positive and empowering environment that results in smooth and efficient operations.
    • Responsible for successfully onboarding and setting up training plans for new team members, as well as leading, mentoring, and coaching existing team members.
    • Provide regular feedback to the Doctor on employee performance and leading the employee’s annual review and any follow up actions.
    • Manage scheduling of staff in coordination with Team Scheduling Coordinator (currently Kari).
    • Ensure that excellent patient service delivery expectations are met with each patient.
    • Ensure strict compliance with all company policies and pertinent laws and regulations (HIPAA, OSHA, ADA, Dental Board, Employee Policy, Basic Labor laws, etc…)
    • Coordinate and ensure effective and efficient team meetings with an encouraging and positive attitude.
    • Manage referral process (delegating specific duties related to referral process to team members)
    • Assist team members with various projects and help them identify and implement improved ways of doing things to improve the customer experience and streamline operations
    • Foster a success-oriented environment that reflects the practice values, encourages good performance and rewards productivity
    • Ensure that patient records are accurate and complete, and that patient confidentiality is strictly maintained
    • Work directly with doctors and the clinical team to provide guidance and training in regards to charging out treatment.
    • Work closely with the clinical team to ensure patients are seen in a timely manner and the schedule runs smoothly.
    • Meet weekly with doctors to ensure effective communication and smooth operations for both clinical and administrative teams.
    • Other duties as assigned.
