Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats patients that have abnormal structures of the body caused by congenital defects, developmental abnormalities, trauma, infection, tumors, or disease. Performs surgery to improve functions and to approximate a normal appearance. Being a Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice. St. David's Healthcare would like to recruit a microvascular/reconstructive plastic surgeon to join a private practice group in Austin, TX.
Qualified Candidate:- Board certifide/board eligible plastic surgeon with preferred fellowship training in microvascular/reconstructive surgery
- Licensed in the state of Texas or ability to obtain
- Breast reconstructive plastic surgery with DIEP experience required, with interest in developing a breast reconstruction program
- Trauma program support needed for hand, facial and reconstructive surgery
- Opportunity to build a reconstructive hospital practice and outpatient cosmetic aesthetics practice
- Start date: Fall 2024
